AQUILA NEWS FOR 2008

Loss of the prodigal son, still foremost in my mind

On Sunday, May 15, 2005 my beloved guardian, Hershey, had to leave me. At 12 1/2 his age finally caught up with him and his body failed. He passed peacefully in my arms. He did not have any suffering and is now my CONSTANT guardian angel without the constraints of a physical form. His smiling face, his wagging tail, his leadership, and his hogging the pillow at night will be missed. I definately was blessed to have him in my life and will be forever grateful and dedicate all I did in Labradors to him. Love you boy!

TRAGIC EVENT AT SUMMER STORM IN BRAZIL

My dearest friends lost their beloved #1 Labrador "Bob" in a horrible, life altering crime gone wrong. "Bob" was only 3 and had far surpassed his father, "JJ" as a record winning chocolate dog. A tragic loss of a part of their Summer Storm family. My heart breaks with them. Please take a moment to remember and send positives to Roberto and Renata.

AQUILA'S COMEDY OF ERRORS, "JJ", IS A RECORD BREAKER

What lies ahead?

All dogs here are loving companions and represent the type and temperament I prefer to live with.

My older girls are retired and spayed, living out their dream jobs as couch and bed dogs. Austria and Rugby are great role models and ambassadors.

We have procured a yellow daughter from our imported dog, Fellow UK Forest Hunter, the Bradking Hugo nephew. Sasha will be turning 2 and is currently preparing for therapy dog certification.

Bunny, or "the Bunninator" as she is fondly referred to is coming on nicely. She is the epitome of Labrador Retriever imbibed in one package. She is the daughter of Kersey. She made a nice showing at 8 months in the Bred-By classes at a couple local shows. She will be out and about making show appearances.

Our new baby girl arrival, "Roo", is a black sired by a CH Ridge View Bugs Bunny/Tres Jolie son. She is thriving in a home where she is already being taught to be a working retriver which she is mastering very well at just 3 months of age! She will also take her turn in conformation when ready. She loves to work on rules the roost. Watch for her in local events.

The boys are just growing up, taking stabs at various dog activities and trying to find their niche. My chocolate boy, Gus, is a sweet boy who seems to be loving obedience work and may turn out to be my next Therapy Dog. Gus has a special place in my heart because he is a carbon copy of his grandmother, Robyn.

His brother, Primo is a great fetch 'em up guy and is facinated by agility. He is my shadow, I think appointed by my guardian angel, Hershey, to keep me in line. He is a definate conformation prospect so, he is now ready to go out.

We will be dabbling in a bit of dog events this year. Keep checking back for any updates.

Thorington.
